"Medicine" // "But every time they try to fix me up, I get addicted to the medicine"
muse a has always been withdrawn. they keep to themselves when feelings are involved and can be the life of the party but never lets anyone in. coupled with that was a heavy addiction to pain medication from a past accident that happened. whether than leaving the hospital with just a few scars, they left with a prescription that would hook them. enter muse b; the fixer. they have been friends with muse a for years and has always tried to fix anything muse a made a mess of. they'd do anything for them. on the flip-side of that was the reality that muse b was smitten by muse a, addiction and all. muse a isn't stupid about it, but also doesn't confront it.what does muse b with feelings and a person that can barely handle living, let alone love?
"And I don't ever wanna give you up"

"You Were" // "But if you ever wanna start things over"
living in a love that's fading. a summer time fling. muse a & muse b fell for each other quickly in the heat of a college summer, but muse b had to ship back to their own college at the end of the hot months. the break-up is hard but they both know they'd never survive long-distance for the next three years. fast forward four years and muse a & b were both inviting to a wedding of a mutual friend. the two bump into each other and its clear that the lingering 'what-if' is still there. what are they to do? it's a repeat of history. muse a is only in town for the week before she heads back home to work.
"If you ever wanna try again, You can call me any time of day girl"

“Stubborn Love” // “it’s better to feel pain than nothing at all”
muse a & muse b have been friends for their whole lives. Muse a has some serious deep rooted problems, that always have caused muse a to lash out at muse b or kick them out of their life completely, but it never made muse b’s feeling wavier. Muse b was always their rock, support, and constantly pushed them to keep going even if they were being a total pain in the ass. They could always count on muse b to come back knocking, despite any blow-ups or fights they had. The older they got, the more muse b realized they stuck it out because they really loved muse a.
“I’m standing on your porch screaming out & I won’t leave until you come downstairs”
-
“Sleep on the Floor” // “Will you lay yourself down and dig yourself a grave or will you rail against your dying day?”
after a death in the family, muse a feels completely lost in the world. It feels as though they’re drowning with sights of being thrown a life preserver. Or so they thought. Cue muse B, who swoops in when they see they’re struggling. Muse b is a distant friend of the family and the two of them had really only hung out at family functions, but that doesn’t stop them from throwing out a wild suggestion; packing a bag and getting out of town for however long they see fit. Turns out, muse b has been struggling too and maybe a road trip and starting over was just what the doctor ordered.
“Cause if we don’t leave this town, we might never make it out”
-
“Angela” // “When you left this town, with your windows down, and the wilderness inside”
muse a has spent their whole life running away from their problems; schools, relationships, family. If any kind of feeling came out, they ran the other way. After dropping out of college mid-semester, in what can only be described as a total emotional breakdown, muse a books It across the country in their car. The road was really the only place they ever felt like they were at home and driving for days feels like a blessing. Muse a ends up in a rainy city and hops from hotel to hotel, having no problem with the less than perfect conditions and talking to strangers. That’s when muse a meets muse b. the two hit it off and are pretty much convinced they must have been friends in another life with how easily they click. Muse b is smitten but muse a has no intentions of sticking around.
“Home at last”

“Some Kind of Drug” // “Can’t explain all the ways you get me high”
Muse A was always the ‘bad boy’, the womanizer, the flirt. Even as he got older and morphed into a rather successful business man, he never quite got out of that phase of playing girls, luring them into bed, and playing a game of cat and mouse. That is until Muse A meets Muse B, the only person who plays the game just as good, if not even better than him. What starts out as a casual fling after parties starts to turn into something that Muse A wants way more frequently. And more than that, Muse B’s hard-to-get game only makes him want them more. As much as he’s afraid of any kind of commitment, and to have to give up all the other side-chicks he’s screwing, Muse B makes him feel some way he can’t explain.
“We ain’t playing anymore”
-
“Somebody Else” // “But I hate to think about you with somebody else”
Muse A & Muse B have been dating for [x] years. Somewhere along the way it would seem as though Muse B began to lose interest in Muse A. Canceled dates led to a lack of attention which led to barely talking… You get the point. After down-spiral and down-spiral, Muse A finally calls it quits. The two of them are still constantly around each other [because of school, work, common interest, etc.] and as the breakup looms between them, it slowly becomes clear that neither of them want to be apart. Muse B tries flirting and showing off around Muse A, but rather making Muse A jealous, it just pissed them off and causes them to rebel back. Now the two are caught in a stupid game of who can one-up-who, when all they really want is to be back together. So, whose gonna cave first? Anyone?
“I’m looking through you while you’re looking through your phone and leaving with somebody else”

“The Night We Met” // “I had all and then most of you, some and now none of you”
Muse A & Muse B were childhood friends turned lovers. They both grew up in a small town and bonded over their want to get out of town because they both believed there was something bigger and better out there for them both. They both decided that once they graduated high school, they would get out of there and move away together. Those plans change when Muse A’s father dies and they decide that it’s for the best if they stay behind to watch over and be with their big family. Muse B is devastated about the loss, but also for the loss of Muse A. Muse A practically accepts their fate as being damned to that small town and it kills Muse B to see them fade away. In the middle of a hot summer’s night, Muse B ups and leaves. It isn’t for another few years until the two of them see each other again, when Muse B comes back to attend a wedding. It’s there that the two spark things up again with a bottle of wine on a hammock, and it becomes clear that Muse A never quiet lost the desire to get away, nor did their feelings for Muse B fully fade away.
“Oh, take me back to the night we met”

“Sweet Adeline” // “Oh, won’t you be mine?”
Muse A is the sweetest, cutest, most intriguing thing that Muse B has come across in their whole life. Muse A left the big city to spend a few weeks with their cousin, who lives in Muse B’s small town. Muse A and Muse B meet at a backyard bonfire, complaining about the same shitty beer. Muse B is practically smitten. However, Muse A isn’t as perfect as they seem. Muse A came with baggage, and more importantly, a significant other back home. Muse A’s relationship is in shambles and they’re in a dead-end career they can’t stand. Muse B is almost positive that Muse A was put in front of them as a God-given gift to take and show the finer things in life, and as they build their relationship over the next few weeks, they’re almost certain of it. But Muse A can only run away for so long.
“Why did you run? Somebody’s missin’ on you”
